. . . long story short an inkling led to understanding a visual mirage !
. . . we can see one very long fence that looks all the very same !
. . . we can see the neighbours, can see the elderly neighbours, we can see the elderly neighbours farthest fence down the end too . . .
. . . and it happens to look all completely proportional in both colour and shape from start to finish . . .

. . . i used to help in my local community decades ago and part of that meant - solving . . .
. . . that's when i came to meet Maggie our local Cat Lady . . . and once in a while i would
. . . help her go collect free cat food which she would take around to the dying strays in the street
. . . none of them would make it into family's except the overall odd few, perhaps taken on by a
. . . neighbourly house, usually putting something out on the front door step for a few, or one . . .
. . . which might become permanent , even sleeping inside, perhaps on the end of a bed,
. . . which as it turns out i did with two little sisters at one point all along the way, yep . . .
. . . not sure really how to describe mags really, back at the / her local school . . .
. . . she was actually seen as a wannabe gf, or wife, but never got there.
Back in the earliest years she had this travelling pet cage she or possibly her dad built for her . . .
. . . and seeing as i'm into projects i might put the photo's of it up for you all to see . . .
. . . basicaly a very clever ' folding wood panel box ' with four wheels . . .
. . . which was her only method of getting one of her three dogs
. . . to the vet , before her / between her car.
A bit of a hard old girl to be honest with you , she got just so darned difficult at one point that i
was forced to tresspass her off of my own place because she wanted to check for cats
while checking me out which i wasn't interested in at all, just no not at all !!!
. . . her story's, her chatting me up, against the wall, nooo !
From about the 1980's . . .
Even had padding for both feet and head . . .
In fact i'll call it just that ' Maggies Folding Wood Panel Vet Box ' yeah !!!
The most fantastical contraption ever, online later . . .
She passed away from heart . . .

I rememebr the first time they met me too, wasn't so much as aaaaaaaahhh, but umm, okay then . . . ? ? ?
. . . sidling up across my body or hip ummm icky i was never sure what to say or ? anything !
. . . and her walking about sharing / eating her cookie with one !
. . . it was a whole experience, The Girl And Dogs !

I remember wanting to ask one question, realised i better not , think she guessed right that mo'
' . . . i don't jeff, we all live togther through the house ! ' told me the whole answer !
. . . i was dying to say, ' that's all fine mags but you need separation !
. . . her eyes asked how , and i reflected ...germs, mags ?
. . . but no !
Another time, a coffee then jeff, no that's all fine thanks, we both realised it wasn't going anywhere, friendship ?
. . . i'd happily help anyone back in the day, that was my position fullstop, however i did go in the car to pickup
. . . seconds of pet food to help her stock the boot for her little street feeding journeys, cats mainly !
. . . she did pretty well for whole long stretches, wheeling loads out to her car, reflecting her
. . . call-outs in the middle of the day, every day, every week, every month,
. . . then nothing . . .
. . . ages . . .
. . . cat bods, yep !!!!

Speaking of food, i did wonder, as someone that just popped over sometimes if she ate enough, seriously, like while
she was about the same torso, it seemed more ' grissle ' than actualy weight , i did worry about that part with her . . . ?
. . . only ever seemed to eat cereal type stuff , never ever saw her with a burger or whatever . . . ?
At another time, stupid me was going to offer to help come and offer to help clean the back of the house up . . .
. . . was just so filthy, even the walls, carpet, you name it . . .
. . . and then there were always stories localy, even our councillor on the same road, we all knew bits, she'd keep an eye out on
the little buggers doing rubbish and tagging at the park , and i during the day, but one of her extraordinary feats was to climb
up the side of the long ladder, the tall skinny one, perched against the side of her chimney, quite seriously, so she could
look out over the rugby field and swings at park next door !!! I asked how she never fell off down the steep driveway ???
. . . parently she took a bit of rope - and tied onto the ladder . . . itself . . . ? grief f f !!!
. . . like not the house or chimney instead !!!
. . . actually, speaking of the house, there was some of us way back then already owned our own places, you need to realise just
how ancient i actually am, anyway she apparently came into her place from a gift by her mum, a not so small six kay help !!!

. . . and i think that's what happened , , , i have stories about how she liked the boys back at college decades before . . .
. . . but just really nothing apparently jelled into something anything at all, and was apparent on longer chats . . .

She seemed to know about not making it , i know she wasn't happy about that from within . . . o u t . . .
Still, she would smile - for an intelligent joke, hmmm.
Other life beyond the zillion cats and three dogs were some chickens out the very back in one of those round sheds
over in the far corner, she kept them in those old wooden nail crates or box's where she'd get eggs for breakfast !
This next bit i can't be sure about but one year she seemed sore and after asking i think she said she'd gone
and dropped through the garrage roof onto the floor but except it was alluminium ? so not sure . . .
{ ...one other time i needed to have a chat with her about her security at night, actually any time, ended up having to call staff
i happened to be in contact with back then because she'd not be seen for ages, you know i helped our local cc and
turns out she'd been leaving her doors unlocked for years, god knows why, actually from that i ended up doing
an article for the nhw mag' about locking doors, some ' person ' ( these years no one likes the use of some
words that describe persons, silly actually ) had simply walked in and stood next to her bed !!! i said
mags what on earth are you stupid or something ??? ! ! ! Staff knew i did all that task and put me
through, and really all i could do was pester her to put the locks on at night !!! Grrr !!! }
. . . basicaly, i am NOT waking up just to find some bad news NOPE !!! Idiot !!!
{ ...last but not least if she's shared a story with you in years past about a ' furniture ' baton its all true !!! }
{ ...looks like something from a seventeenth century but nineties shaping knuckle crosbar !!! }

As i walk this earth, particularly when younger i hoped for people who were having it harder than most to make it . . .
. . . and that would really only need for them to realise what they already Have, not what they Didn't . . .

Would have done the world of good to have painted a fresh coat out the back kitchen dining areas,
and done something with the badly claw scratched lino too . . . an updated table / chairs !
I wasn't sure for me, but maybe i'd have helped her do a little bit ?
Turns out that back there wasn't ' Last but least ' after all, some of the other rubbish thrown out onto the berm had a little surprise
for me to see, as a project kinda person i'm going to display a rather nice item, a piece of ceramic art . . . slowly over time . . .
I have now completed discovering and researching a genuine : Vintage Hazel Olsen Pattery Quail.

HEALTH UPDATE . . .
My last mention on page four near the bottom of the main section spoke about how many surgery's,
and the various issues for my scalp cancer, two pieces it turns out will need to be revisited,
however for the good news i can now, for the past two weeks, actually brush my
shampoo hands over my scalp just lightly for the first time for about
four years, sadly the caused psoriasis won't be leaving
for a long while just yet.

Unfortunately my overall story is getting worse now . . .
The other week i had a giant crohn's flare that awoke me from a deep sleep - in my chair of all places - stupid !!!
As you know this harps on back to really should've been able to have had my abdo surgery top of the year,
albeit for a surgeon who didn't understand the obvious ramifications of two strictures and his view,
and while i'm hopeful for around early next year - my body is now showing other signs.
This morning off and away to chores and groceries, but abdo had other ideas...
i literally stepped through the large doors and my abdo went off big time !!!
trolley in hands i slowed right the way down and thought i was going
to crash on the floor, usually its quite good and it'll wait 'till
i get home or only ever at home, rarely while out,
so i shuffled all the way across to the choc'
milk, then over to the toilet, then my
ready tablets stomach and pain,
and went and sat outside for
half an hour with sweaty
brow, finaly got up
and continued.

The problem is actually a nasty growing set of finale symptoms, we all know where i'm heading,
it'll be all over if the months timing goes wrong, but i don't think i care as much anymore,
its been with me most of my life this crohns, surgeons will confirm that scar tissue
over the s/i area operated on ' can ' be part of a vicious circle for more !!!
Just so much gas and s/i wall thickness pain meant more pain
relief, or else !!! People even doctors don't get how this
can play out, by the time i got home it had settled
but what about tommorrow ? finaly made
some bacon at 12.41am to eat, see
if it wants to behave, so much
painful gas i had to take
the big stuff earlier !!!

At first i thought ' what great luck !!! ' long after i gave my tapes away, sorted !!!
A decade later i come upon this little cube looking single tape player box !!!
Great i thought, plugged into a laptop checked the three places for install...
WinXP-SP2 showing : 1) Volume Control - ' USB PnP Mixer Device ' - tick
2) USB Human Interface Device - tick and 3) ...human interface devices :
...hid-compliant control device and ...usb human interface device
...a cable i found in my junk box, and then plugged the power
Proceeded to record side on Audacity and went to turn it over...
But it wouldn't move whatsoever : Given that it was most likely
like an old car stereo i pressed it in to see it FForward...
And a second try to Eject it all the way out...
...but it didn't : instead the knob broke !!!

In fact there were a few places : the push button was made to be skinny and weak and snapped,
...the two scews mounted between plastic and end of cassette onto the box slot broke too !!!
...i literally had to turn it off and press the cassette out the slot doorway too !!!
...it was the wrong type of plastic and it was moulded into very thin shapes !!!
I opened it all up and got the tape out of there !!!

Extremely dissapointing ...if i'd only got the Tape out - it would've been all fine !!!
But NO !!!

. . . i'll probably throw it away after spending a few dollars !!!

UPDATE : Right, back again . . . needed to repair a few different things . . .
Not sure why i'm putting this one here, made two aluminium plates to mount the two nuts/bolts, atop the broken
holes . . . . . . so just two mounting ones for that, plus still need to find a new knob for thumb . . . tommorrow !
For those who want to revamp theirs here's an instruction : Opening the base and looking back up at the end
of the cassette ( speaker up ) you'll see next to the motor on right somemetalwork so put a tape in letting it
sit down at the end - and outside the corner is what looks like a metal foot poking upwards, if you were to
press the tape home that ' foot ' would popdown and disappear behind a metal plate, the interaction of those
two is extremely ' dry ' - these are all press stamped metal then bent and shaped to positions, what you
need to do is help make them become slightly more ' slippery ' naturaly : in this open display find an
emery board and rub all over the three sharp edges L , M , and R sharp edging, then find a dot of
thick grease and spread it just over that little foot, next up that plate it slips onto to stay there
while the tape plays and then off again when it ends and is in need of a little of its own
grease, a simple angled wire with it on the end and put behind the plate is fine.
Now for a test : now push your tape in, you'll see the two click together.
It should then come apart and the tape popout smoothly, so
go ahead and click the thumb button while watching
underneath as the parts open up - done !!!

Remember, just as the old car stereo's : don't expect the tape tocomeflyingout fast,
its just enough to pick hold of at the top with your fingertips !!!

...a few specific single leading sharp eddges need a small light chamfer to actually slide - they're pressed hard crisp steel !!!
...likewise a few single ' planes ' need a touch of grease ' for yet other planes to slide over !!!
Lets see . . .
For the rounded thumb pokey thing i might get a piece of aluminium, take that brittle plastic
right off the chassis and put an aluminium arm directly onto the 90° steel that
mounts that arm ...all the way up through that slot!!!
When i get to it . . .
The idea was its meant to actualy eject properly . . .
. . . and i then put it away until needed again !!!
. . . not ever need special instructions just to use it !!!
. . . oh and the previous three ' bolt ' holes that split halfway through ?
. . . perhaps if i put a short 'very thin ' strong metal plate across that !
and with those exact holes connecting onto underside, then it
. . . might just hold on tight to the box as the Thumb button is
. . . pressed down hard to eject the cassette !!!
. . . hopefully !
The physicality and School Cert and all that . . .
When you push down on the Rod (thumb) it should push on the thingy and
the bottom pop's up and your favourite sounds pop out the hole !!!
And it stays arched waiting for the next cassette !!!
Which holds it close and loving and
Plays it !!!
